DAVIESS COUNTY SAUVIGNON CASK

Revived from Prohibition-tainted ashes and a slow recovery spanning from roughly 1874, the Daviess County brand is owned by Lux Row Distilleries and has come back to the vibrant land of the living-libations starting in 2020. As if to signify its new beginnings, Daviess County Cabernet Sauvignon Cask Finished Kentucky straight bourbon is a complex offering created with a mixed mash bill of wheat and rye. This whiskey is aged for 4 years and finished for 6 months in cabernet barrels with a cask strength of 96% proof. The nose is a warm dip into plum wine, rich cream, and delicately roasted spice. On the tongue, the notes of toasted rosemary over layers of tannin soak the mouth.
